1. Product Overview
1.1 Core Feature: Co-Extruded UV Protective Layer This polycarbonate sheet adopts co-extrusion technology to fuse a 10μm thick permanent UV shielding cap layer onto the surface. One-side or double-side UV coating options are available. The UV barrier blocks 99.9% harmful UVA/UVB rays to prevent outdoor yellowing, light loss and embrittlement, covered by a formal 10-year UV limited warranty under correct installation and maintenance.
1.2 Key Material Advantages Extreme impact resistance: 250 times stronger than float glass, anti-hail & anti-collision Lightweight: Only 1/10 weight of equivalent glass Wide working temperature: -40℃ ~ +120℃ High light transmission: Clear grade reaches 85%~90% Self-extinguishing flame retardant, low smoke emission Easy mechanical processing: laser cutting, circular saw, CNC router, band saw
1.3 Typical Applications Sunroom roofing, skylights, greenhouse glazing, stadium canopies, commercial facade glazing, safety machine guards, outdoor signage, sound barrier panels.
2. Technical Standard & 10-Year UV Warranty Specification
2.1 Core Warranty Criteria (ASTM Standards) 10-year outdoor coverage from purchase: Light loss ≤6% (ASTM D1003); ΔYI ≤10 (ASTM D1925) Tensile strength ≥55MPa; no UV layer cracking, chalking or peeling
2.2 Coverage Free replacement only if all operation rules are followed and sheets fail above standards.
2.3 Compliance Requirements UV-coated surface faces outdoors; double-sided UV sheets have no direction limit Strictly follow manual for storage, cutting and installation Use neutral silicone, aluminum frames and EPDM gaskets; avoid acid/alkali chemicals Reserve thermal expansion gap: 0.065mm/m/℃ Keep invoices and batch numbers; warranty non-transferable
2.4 Exclusions Improper cutting, drilling, bending or over-tight fasteners Chemical corrosion, scratches, impacts, disasters and hail over 25mm Indoor use, unauthorized thermoforming/secondary coating Long contact with water/bare metal; film left on over 30 days post-installation
3. Processing & Fabrication Guidelines (Machine Cutting Only) All cutting equipment must use plastic-specific tools to avoid melting edge and UV layer damage.
CO₂ Laser Cutter (≤6mm thin sheet) Equipment: 60–150W CO₂ laser machine, fume extractor. Set matched power & speed to prevent edge carbonization; retain surface protective film during cutting. Ultra-smooth burr-free edges.
Bench Circular Saw (2–12mm sheets, straight cuts) Equipment: Bench saw with 80–120 tooth carbide plastic blade, air cooling system. Operate at low rotation speed, continuously cool cutting seam with compressed air to avoid UV layer melting. Deburr edges after cutting.
Vertical Band Saw (Up to 20mm thick sheet, curve cutting) Equipment: Plastic dedicated band blade, air cooling nozzle. Feed sheet slowly for irregular shapes; clear melted plastic residue in real time.
CNC Router (High-precision batch custom parts) Equipment: Single-flute spiral plastic end mill, vacuum adsorption table, dust collector. Import CAD drawing files, low feed speed to protect UV coating, cut holes, arcs and complex contours automatically.
Hydraulic Shear (≤2mm thin sheet mass straight cutting) Equipment: Hydraulic plate shear with positioning back gauge. One-step shearing for high efficiency; not applicable for curved shapes.
4. Storage, Installation & Maintenance
4.1 Storage Keep sheets flat on dry horizontal pallet, covered by original opaque protective film; avoid direct sunlight before installation. Do not stack heavy loads on top; prevent sharp metal scratching UV surface. Storage period ≤6 months; peel film partially monthly for ventilation if long-term stock.
4.2 Installation Rules Confirm UV printed logo faces outside toward sunlight before fixing. Drill oversized holes for fasteners to allow thermal expansion; never over-tighten screws. Use breathable tape on bottom hollow channel for multiwall sheets to discharge condensation. Select neutral weather-proof silicone sealant; reject acidic or alkaline glues. Complete installation and remove protective film within 30 days to prevent film glue residue etching UV coating.
4.3 Daily Cleaning Clean with soft sponge, mild neutral detergent and room-temperature clean water. Ban abrasive scrubber, acetone, alcohol, ammonia, bleach and window cleaner containing solvent. Flush surface dust regularly to avoid mineral stain buildup blocking UV protection performance.
5. Warranty Claim Process Submit written claim within 7 days once UV aging defect is found, within 10-year warranty period.
Provide original purchase invoice, product batch number, installation photos, on-site sheet samples. Manufacturer arranges professional weathering inspection test; confirm defect caused by UV layer failure under qualified use. If warranty valid: free supply of replacement sheets; labor, transportation and secondary installation fees not included.Disqualification if any operation violates this manual’s requirements.Disclaimer This 10-year UV limited warranty only targets UV aging performance from natural solar radiation. All mechanical damage, chemical erosion, improper operation and force majeure damage are excluded. Manufacturer reserves the right to adjust technical parameters without prior notice.
